چکیده

Abstract Aim The talonavicular (TN) forms part of the medial joint complex, which is involved in maintaining stability during gait cycle Arthrodesis can be used to manage a range deformities and treat degenerative inflammatory changes joint. most significant complication non-union, but chronic pain due complex regional syndrome, or progressive arthritic also occur. aim was evaluate outcome different methods fixation for TN arthrodesis adults within trust. Method This quality improvement project, looking retrospectively at inpatient surgeries over 6-year period. Inpatient notes, operative clinic letters imaging were analysed. Treatment included IOFIX devices, cannulated screws, staples, plates combined staples screws. sample total 57 patients (42 females 15 males). Results had 93% fusion rate, 27% rate. Cannulated screws 79% 46% Screws 75% union 13% Only one resulted no complications. Using alone 78% rate 11% Conclusions greatest achieved with followed by Greatest lowest use Highest revision surgery Recommendations switch devices arthrodesis.

Chronic Progressive Dislocation of the Talo-navicular Joint.

Jensen (1963) reported a case of so-called bilateral dislocation of the talus in a woman of sixty-four. The etiology of the lesion was not determined. The patient had had no trouble with her feet until she was forty-nine, when she began to get pain and valgus deformity. The pain ceased after six months but the deformities became progressively more severe. Jensen stated that he had not found ref...

Tibio-talo-calcaneal arthrodesis by a retrograde intramedullary nail.

BACKGROUND The paper presents the results of tibio-talo-calcaneal fusions using Retrograde Nailing System and Bone Grafting. MATERIAL AND METHODS From May 2006 to January 2008, we performed 13 fusions in 11 consecutive patients with advanced ankle and hindfoot disease. Patients underwent 13 tibiotalocalcaneal fusions (2 patients had initial tibiotalocalcaneal fusion using screws and subsequen...

Tibiotalocalcaneal Arthrodesis with Intramedullary Fixation

In this paper is described a technique for performing tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis using a new type of intramedullary fixation, the ankle fusion nail. This paper also contains a retrospective review of 17 patients with a mean age of 46 years who underwent tibiotalocalcaneal arthrodesis with intramedullary fixation for diagnoses of osteoarthrosis (12 patients), rheumatoid arthritis (4 patients...

Medium to long-term outcome of thoracoscapular arthrodesis with screw fixation for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy.

BACKGROUND Shoulder girdle muscle weakness is the most constant feature of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and leads to scapular winging. Mechanical fixation of the scapula to the thoracic wall provides a stable fulcrum on which the deltoid muscle can exert its action on the humerus. The aim of this study was to evaluate the medium to long-term outcome of thoracoscapular arthrodesis with...

Biomechanical comparison of three fixation techniques used for four-corner arthrodesis.

Clinical results following four-corner arthrodesis vary and suggest that nonunion may be related to certain fixation techniques. The purpose of our study was to examine the displacement between the lunate and capitate following a simulated four-corner arthrodesis with the hypothesis that three types of fixation (Kirschner wires, dorsal circular plate, and a locked dorsal circular plate) would a...
